Separate the statements

A product can publish 0g added sugars while listing a preservative. Sunsweet’s linked prune panel provides that example: pitted prunes and potassium sorbate appear in its ingredient line. Its zero-added-sugar field is not rewritten as a one-ingredient or preservative-free claim. “Fruit-based” is not a substitute for the full formula.

Check the selected single-ingredient records

Brothers’ selected page says strawberries, while Bare’s selected back panel says apples. Those are ingredient-list observations tied to particular recipes and versions. The site does not infer that every flavor under either brand has the same ingredient count. A banana-strawberry blend or cinnamon variant needs a separate list even if a brand-wide marketing phrase sounds similar.

Do not convert a claim into allergy clearance

A one-ingredient product can still require checking current allergen and advisory information. The absence of a particular ingredient in a marketing summary is not a cross-contact test. The label finder preserves published statements while returning unknown for individual allergy suitability. It does not certify every 100%fruit snack as safe for every person or school.

Keep the qualifier with the claim

Bare’s no-added-sugar wording includes a not-low-calorie caveat. Brothers’ page has allergy-friendly and school marketing alongside a packaging-transition notice. These statements belong to their sources; this publication has not independently verified their clinical implications or the actual received package. Do not turn them into broader promises by shortening the wording.

Use separate checklist columns

For a practical comparison, keep ingredient list, added-sugar grams, preservative claim and allergen statement in separate fields. Mark each as established, source-attributed or unresolved. A buyer can then decide which exact missing fact needs clarification before spending money, instead of treating one attractive front-panel phrase as an answer to every purchasing requirement.

A clean-looking front is not the entire specification

Imagine a front panel carrying fruit imagery and a no-added-sugar phrase while the linked ingredient list includes potassium sorbate. That does not make the two observations inherently contradictory: sugar and preservatives are different questions. A meaningful checklist can accept one condition while leaving another unmet or unresolved. Do not mark an entire product “verified” from one favorable field. Ask for the exact current panel when a particular claim is purchase-critical, and retain the relevant source rather than the shortest promotional slogan.
