Read the actual wording, not a paraphrase

A Contains statement identifying an allergen used in a food is different from an advisory such as may contain or produced in a facility. FDA explains these separate roles. Record the wording and its location on the exact current package. Do not translate a facility statement into an ingredient declaration or assume an absent advisory establishes zero cross-contact risk.

Keep this site’s records bounded

Sunsweet’s linked nutrition graphic describes a nut-free facility. Brothers’ selected page makes specific free-from and allergy-friendly claims. Bare’s readable back image lists apples and a physical-fragment caution but does not establish a personal allergy clearance. These observations are not a completed independent allergen review of the received packages.

Do not borrow an unrelated product’s warning

A brand can make many foods in different facilities or packaging versions. The allergy statement from one flavor, a variety pack or a generic FAQ cannot silently replace the exact selected item’s current label. If an online panel is incomplete, ask the maker for that SKU and version instead of filling a blank with an assumption.

Give an evidence request enough detail

Include the exact product name, size, UPC or maker SKU and, if available, the received lot. Ask which ingredient and advisory statements apply to that current package. A reply about an entire brand may not answer a narrow cross-contact concern. Keep the response dated and preserve any unresolved scope limit in your own record.

Use professional advice for individual risk

This shopping site has no medical-history or allergy-input field and cannot tell someone whether to eat a selected product. A generic fruit composition photograph is not safety evidence. If a particular allergy is a purchase-critical condition, use the actual label and appropriate clinical advice rather than a no-added-sugar badge, single-ingredient description or a site’s successful build.

Do not turn a blank allergen field into a green light

A retailer’s empty allergen area may reflect incomplete data rather than a manufacturer statement that no cross-contact is possible. Keep the field as not established unless the current exact label or maker clarification supports a narrower conclusion. A100%fruit ingredient list does not automatically answer facility practices, a school’s rules or an individual allergy question. The finder intentionally returns unknown rather than use a reassuring default. No person’s health history is collected or assessed by the site.
