Separate valid and unresolved bases
The selected Sunsweet pouch is 8oz at $5.49, and the selected Bare pouch is 3.4oz at $4.99. Their supported item rates are about$0.6863 and$1.4676 per net ounce. Brothers’ selected outer package has conflicting mass images, so its price per net ounce is withheld. The tool can still show the displayed amount per complete selected outer offer.
Do not turn shipping weight into food mass
A product record can include carrier weight, dimensions or a box weight used for shipping. Those figures are not a food net-weight declaration. Likewise, a count of nutrition servings times a rounded gram basis does not necessarily recreate the declared package mass. Use the selected front-panel net quantity and keep unresolved version conflicts visible.
Compare prices without claiming equivalence
A supported mass price answers how much the declared item mass costs at the observed amount. It does not mean a net ounce of dried prune, freeze-dried strawberry and baked apple has equal volume, calories, water content or culinary behavior. No density or fresh-fruit exchange is applied. A lower rate is not a nutrition-quality score or proof of suitability.
Use the current amount and its conditions
The default prices are dated observations, not live checkout queries. If you have a new quote, enter the price for the complete matching selected offer. Discounts applied to an order should stay in the basket’s merchandise-credit field; do not rewrite a package’s ordinary price unless the new offer and eligibility are actually established. Keep shipping and tax separate.
Know what would resolve the Brothers refusal
A maker confirmation tying the exact current SKU,12inner bags and one coherent total net mass to the shipped version would support a new weight rate. Until then, multiplying 7.5g by 12 may be correct arithmetic for one interpretation but does not verify which package the merchant will supply. The calculator refuses that unsupported purchasing premise.
A rounded ounce rate should not recreate the cart
The tool displays Sunsweet’s ounce rate to four decimals for readability. Multiplying that rounded rate back by8may not reconstruct the item amount exactly. The basket therefore uses the entered549cents directly for each complete pouch, not the rounded displayed rate. This keeps a unit-price presentation choice from becoming a money-calculation error. Shipping, tax and credits are separate cent fields; a supported ounce rate still does not mean two foods have equivalent servings or eating properties.
